Jacobs Brewhouse
Jacobs Brewhouse in Historic Deadwood, opened in June 2020 after a year and a half of restoration and remodeling. The 1895 building where the Brewhouse is located, is now a self-contained epicenter of art, unique food, craftsmanship, an impressive full bar with specialty cocktails and in-house crafted beer. (See Jacobs Brewery) Perhaps the most awe-inspiring feature in the building is the original 1895 manual freight elevator that comes out of the floor 11 feet and now houses the wine cellar. However, it could also be the hand welded grape vine that encompasses the railing and winds its way around the bar. Another attraction is a replica of the original mural painted on the side of the building to pay homage to its Deadwood history. The outdoor patio is the best seat in the house during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Kool Deadwood Nites and all the other Deadwood events. Plus, with the 20 foot long reused brick fire wall, skiers and snowmobile enthusiasts can enjoy additional outdoor fun while staying warm and listening to piped in music. Yes, the visual aspects of the building are breathtaking, but let’s talk food… Executive Chef Caleb is young and full of exciting ideas. He shares his vision with some classic staples, plus some ‘out of the box’ creations. All smoked meat is done on premise in the custom-made smoker out back. Another noteworthy topic are the ingredients used and all the house-made items. Because everything is made to order, accommodating different diets is always easily handled. You don’t have to worry about ‘already prepared’ dishes, ‘no substitutions allowed’. You tell us what you want, and you will get it. If you’re looking for a break from all the gaming machines, you found it. The environment lends itself to an undistracted date night, family dining or sports watching on the large 180” drop down movie screen.
