Deadwood Legends Steakhouse at The Franklin Hotel

The Deadwood Legends Steakhouse is a fitting name for our restaurant. Beginning in the Gold Rush days of 1876, a long line of legendary personalities that have checked in — and in a couple of cases, checked out — at Deadwood Gulch. Wild Bill Hickok. Calamity Jane. Seth Bullock. Charley Utter. Preacher Smith.

They all built their legends in Deadwood.

And since 1903, the Franklin Hotel has hosted legendary politicians, business people, sports figures and entertainers. Teddy Roosevelt stayed at the Franklin while visiting his friend Seth Bullock. President William Howard Taft stayed here, too. Babe Ruth, John Wayne and Kevin Costner have also been guests.

And history is still happening at the Silverado Franklin Historic Hotel & Gaming Complex. Each August we host the Legends Ride charity event from Deadwood to the Sturgis Buffalo Chip Campground. Modern legends such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Big Kenny Alphin of Big & Rich and John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell hair products have lent their name and their fame to the legendary charity ride.

There’s a reason all these legends have chosen the Franklin Hotel. And when you sit down for a meal at the Deadwood Legends Steakhouse, you’ll see why. Our food, like our service, is legendary.
