2nd Annual Gold Rush Burger Battle
January 15, 2025 - April 22, 2025 
“The Gold Rush Burger Battle” is a collaborative competition hosted by the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and the Lead Area Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s battle will feature one business per week, lasting 18 weeks beginning on January 15 and ending in May. The battle is between all participating businesses, and customers can rank each burger they try over the weeks. The voting window for each business will be 10 days, starting on the Wednesday of their scheduled week until the next Friday.
Visit each establishment, try their unique specialty burger, and vote on a variety of categories with a star rating system. Burger names, descriptions, and a social media highlight will be released on the Wednesday of each businesses feature week on the Facebook pages linked below. Try them all! Where Burgers Collide. New this Year for Customers!
The Lead and Deadwood Chambers came together to bring new and exciting features to the Gold Rush Burger Battle for 2025. This year, starting January 15, 2025, customers can obtain a punch card from the Deadwood Welcome Center (501 Main Street) or from participating businesses and gain entries into a prize drawing when they try burgers during the battle.
10 punches will give you 2 entries, 14 punches will give you 3 entries, and if you visit all 18 locations and try their burger you will get 5 entries into a drawing to win a gift card or certificate from one of the participating battle restaurants. Punch cards must be turned into the Deadwood Welcome Center on or before May 28, 2025 to be entered into the drawing.
We would also love to see you out and about! Post an image to social media and tag the Lead and Deadwood Chambers of Commerce to gain 1 entry into the drawing! Posts must be public to qualify, with one entry per person, per visit to a participating business.

WHO WINS?: The rating period for a featured burger is open for ten days. We are using Survey Monkey for this process. We’ll have a link to each business’s rating page on this site during that ten day period. Customers rank from 1-5 stars on each category: flavor, patty, toppings, bun, and presentation. Each rating submitted for a business accumulates points (1-5) for each category. There is not a weekly winner. The overall battle winner will be announced when the final week of voting ends on May 23, 2025.
