On August 15, the first Days of ‘76 celebration is held in Deadwood. The celebration started in Belle Fourche in 1922 and was based on Buffalo Bills’ Wild West Show. Today, the Days of ’76 celebration is held annually the last week in July and features five days of award-winning PRCA rodeo action, additional days of timed events and two parades that showcase the town’s historic horse drawn vehicle collection.
